Travelocity Rewards American Express Card Review

One of the best travel websites that is on the internet today is Travelocity. One of the best credit cards that you can use today is the American Express card. When you combine those two together, you get the Travelocity Rewards American Express card. Even though the terms and conditions of this card have recently changed, the rewards that you can receive by using this line of credit are still thorough and comprehensive.

It all begins with how much you spend on Travelocity. The more you spend on this travel website, then the more rewards that you will be able to earn. Every purchase gives you triple the points when you use the Travelocity service. You can also earn points with your daily purchases.

    It’s Not 10%

#1. The 10% rewards that were offered at one point with the Travelocity Rewards American Express card are no longer available. You still have the option to receive up to 2% cash back on your credit card statement. To reach this level of cash back, you will need to bank 20,000 points . When you make your first qualifying purchase, you’ll be able to earn 25% of those points in one single bonus.

    Use Them When You Want

#2. The travel rewards that you earn from the Travelocity credit card do not expire. These rewards don’t have any blackout dates either. This means you can use your points to see your family on the holidays, fly to a tropical location when your schedule permits it, and even fly on the weekends if you prefer.

    Save Money

#3. The Travelocity Rewards American Express card offers you the chance to save some big-time money on your high interest debt. A qualifying balance transfer to this credit card will receive a 0% introductory APR for 15 months. As long as you make all of your payments on time during this period, you will not be charged interest. This is a chance to pay off a lot of debt for 15 months with NO INTEREST.

    Long Term APRs Are Good

#4. A lot of rewards cards will charge you a high interest rate to compensate for the cost of the cash you receive back. The Travelocity Rewards American Express card is different. You receive a variable 14.99% APR on your purchases and this same interest rate applies to balance transfers after the introductory period has expired.

    Pay When You Can

#5. The Travelocity Rewards American Express card does not require you to pay off the balance in full every month. You can rollover your debt if you feel that it is necessary and not face a payment penalty, an account closure, or collection attempts. As long as you pay the minimum monthly due on time, your account will remain in good standing and you will be able to take advantage of all of these unique benefits.

Unfortunately Barclay’s has discontinued the Travelocity Rewards American Express Card program indefinitely. If you are looking for a good travel rewards card that is within the Barclay’s family, however, here are some options for you to consider.

#1. Arrival. You’ll be able to earn 40,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on your new travel card within the first 90 days of opening your account. That’s the equivalent of receiving a $400 travel credit on your statement. All of your purchases have 2x miles and you can book the travel that you want and redeem your miles for a later. It has a 12 month 0% introductory APR for balance transfers and the APR begins at 14.99%.

#2. Ring. This option from Barclay’s is one of the first crowdsourced credit cards on the market today. The APR is extremely attractive at a variable 8%. As a card member, you also get a say on the benefits and features that you want to see with the credit card. There’s no balance transfer fee and no annual fee with this Travelocity Rewards American Express Card.

#3. Carnival. If you like to cruise, then the Carnival Fun Points credit card is a good option to consider. You’ll earn 2x points on all purchases made with Carnival Cruise Lines and 1 point for every $1 spent on everything else. There are 5,000 bonus points waiting for you on your first purchase, which is enough to get a $50 credit when you book a cruise. There is no annual fee associated with this card either.

#4. Diamond Resorts. If you want the vacation of a lifetime, then book it at a Diamond Resorts facility. If you want to save money on that vacation, then you’ll need this Barclay’s travel credit card. You’ll get double points for purchases at Diamond Resorts, but not on any down payments using this card. It has a 6 month introductory 0% APR on that down payment; however, and it starts with a 14.99% APR. There’s no annual fee with this credit card either.

#5. Choice Privileges. Use this Travelocity Rewards American Express Card alternative to stay just 1 night after opening an account and you’ll earn up to 32,000 bonus points. With 15 points for every eligible $1 spent at over 4,200 Choice Privileges locations and 5x points on non-qualifying purchases at Choice properties, you’ll also receive Elite Gold Status automatically that allows you to book a free room up to 50 days in advance. You’ll also receive 10% point bonuses when you earn points on eligible stays.
