Frequent travellers who enjoy staying at Marriott hotels may want to take a closer look at The Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card. Customers can earn rewards to redeem for free accommodations or travel, and extra perks and benefits attached to this credit card. Whether you need an American Express for business or personal use, being an Amex cardmember certainly has its privileges.
The Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card
A credit card geared for personal use, the The Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card offers clients a welcome bonus of 50,000 points after $1,500 is spent within the first 90 days of opening the account. That is a value of three free nights at some Marriott hotels.
After that, cardmembers earn 5 Marriott Bonvoy Points for every dollar spent at any participating Marriott properties. Two points are collected on all other card spending. Cardholders can also earn added Bonvoy Points when they refer friends to the credit card—a bonus of 10,000 points per approval. These points can be redeemed at any time and do not expire as long as the American Express Card is active and the account is in good standing.
Points can be redeemed for free nights at the Marriott, with no blackout dates. Points can also be transferred to frequent flyer miles with a variety of airlines.
Added benefits with the Marriott Bonvoy Amex include one free night annually that can be redeemed after a client celebrates his card anniversary. Approval for this American Express Card automatically upgrades clients to the Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status within the brand’s customer loyalty program. This “status” allows customers to earn 10% more on bonus points when staying at a hotel, as well as purchases made on dining and spa treatments. It also unleashes other perks like priority late checkout, free Wi-Fi, and exclusive rate offers for Marriott Bonvoy members.
Clients are automatically upgraded on an annual basis to Gold Elite status if $30,000 is charged on their Amex over the year. Perks of being a Gold Elite member include all of the above, plus a room upgrade upon check-in, and a Gold Welcome Gift when customers arrive at their room.
There are also perks for being an American Express cardholder. The “Front of the Line” program offers exclusive access to concert and theatre tickets, as well as dining, shopping, and fashion experiences. The credit card provides travel insurances like Flight Delay, Car Rental Theft and Damage, plus more. Lastly, Marriott Bonvoy American Express card members can relax when using this credit product, knowing they have access to both Purchase Protection and Buyer’s Assurance coverage.
The The Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card has an annual fee of $120, with no added charges for additional cardholders. The annual interest rates are standard, with 21.99% for fund advances and 19.99% for purchases.
