Brandon University Alumni Credit Card Review

Manitoba’s third-largest university might just offer you the best line of credit you may have ever had. When approved for the Brandon University credit card offered by MBNA, you will have the opportunity to begin giving back to your school’s alumni association whenever you make an eligible purchase. You can help to support the Tourism Research Centre, contribute to the School of Music, or give an assist to the John E. Robbins Library just by using this credit card.

It’s a great idea. Not only do you gain the chance to start giving back to the school which launched your career, but you also get to save some cash because of the low promotional rates which are offered with this MasterCard. Here is a look at some of the benefits you may receive if approved for this university credit card today.

    • A 0% promotional AIR on all balance transfers within your approved line of credit.
    • Access to the 24/7 customer service that is offered by MBNA for all account holders.
    • A standard AIR of 16.99% on purchases.

There is also access to the MBNA rewards program with this card. You’ll be able to earn 1 point for every qualifying dollar spent on products, services, and other items. Those are some nice benefits, but the good stuff doesn’t just stop there.

The Fee Structure of the Brandon University Credit Card

There is no annual fee associated with this opportunity either. MBNA has included some transaction fees, however, of which you may want to be aware before deciding that this is the right way to start giving back to your school.

    • ATM fees of 1% based on the amount withdrawn, with a minimum fee of $7.50.
    • Standard balance transfer fees of 1% on the total amount transferred. Promotional AIR balance transfer fees are 3%.
    • Access cheques have a 1% standard access fee as well, with a minimum fee of $7.50.

The standard or promotional rates that are granted by MBNA for an approved line of credit through the Brandon University credit card are valid assuming there are no late payments on the account. If there is more than 1 late payment within a consecutive 12 month period, then MBNA reserves the right to increase the standard AIR by 5%. This is also one of the few rewards credit cards offered by MBNA that have a 16.99% standard AIR for purchases.

These are fairly common terms for many credit cards today.
