Simon Fraser University Alumni Credit Card Review

  • 3 min read

With over 100 programs and 3 campus locations, Simon Fraser University offers new and exciting degree programs. Expect groundbreaking research opportunities as part of the culture of SFU just as you can expect a cheer whenever McFogg the Dog comes around. It’s this culture of innovation and belonging that BMO has wanted to bring to their Simon Fraser University MasterCard.

Support SFU With Every Purchase

Using the Simon Fraser University MasterCard is an easy way for alumni to enhance their support for their alma mater. Each qualifying purchase in this program allows the SFU Alumni Association to receive a percentage donation from BMO. This means events, university programs, scholarships, and bursaries all receive support every time the card gets swiped.

The goal is simple: BMO understands that SFU is working to expand the intellectual perspectives and skills of each student and alumnus to prepare for future careers. This line of credit lets you continue on this journey while being able to support your school in an easy and unique way.

What Makes the SFU MasterCard Unique?

Unlike many other college or university credit cards that are offered today, SFU alumni are offered four different rewards program choices with this line of credit. Two of the options have no minimum income requirement: the No Fee Air Miles card and the No Fee cash back card. Alumni with a minimum income of $60,000/$100,000 have access to an Air Miles card with greater rewards or the CashBack World credit card by BMO.

The alumni credit cards with no minimum income requirement also requires no annual fee to maintain the line of credit. The CashBack World card charges an annual fee of $79 while the Air Miles credit card, $99. Every line of credit offered as a 19.99% AIR on purchases and a 22.99% AIR on cash advances.

These rates are subject to change. Limited time offers may apply.

You Get To Redeem Your Rewards in 3 Different Ways

If you choose one of the SFU alumni cash back credit card options, then you receive three different ways to take your rewards. If you already have a BMO chequing account or an InvestorLine Account, then you can apply your cash back credits to these accounts. You can also redeem your rewards as a statement credit if you prefer.

The Simon Fraser University MasterCard by BMO is an easy way to support your school.
